AIRTEC Motorsport Turbo Radiator for Honda Civic FL5 Type R

Following an extensive development process, AIRTEC Motorsport are proud to launch our auxiliary turbo radiator kit aimed at modified Civic FL5 Type R owners who require the ultimate cooling package to maintain steady running temperatures on track or fast road use.

The Challenge \nWhen modifying the Civic FL5 Type R to increase power and torque, an unavoidable by-product is the additional heat level that’s transferred to the car’s cooling system. During sustained hard use, this can become a substantial issue, as coolant temperatures can increase enough to trigger the ECU’s safety features, reducing torque or even putting the car into a limp mode. As a result, we wanted to address the car’s entire cooling system.

The Solution \nDeveloped in-house at AIRTEC HQ in the UK we designed a series of new products to address the cooling issues when pushed to the limit. This additional turbo cooler fits neatly behind the radiator and is plumbed directly into the cooling circuit that flows coolant to and from the turbo to help cool it. \n \nBy teeing into the line as it leaves the turbo, the AIRTEC Motorsport cooler offers an immediate reduction in temperature to help counteract the effects of the coolant being superheated as it passes through the turbo; the hottest part of the car. This helps improve overall capacity and cooling ability, allowing the car to maintain a steadier temperature for longer during hard use.

This can fit in conjunction with our intercooler, oil cooler and gearbox cooler combination to create the ultimate cooling package. The comprehensive kit also features a laser-cut and powder-coated bracket, high-quality Pro Hoses silicone lines as well as all fixtures and fittings, and detailed fitting instructions.

Please note: Will not fit with aftermarket radiator.
